The Lea Singers will be joined by the Camerata Quintet and organ for a performance of Faure’s Requiem, one of his most celebrated choral pieces that features some of the most beautiful melodies he composed. This piece will be complemented by a challenging Stabat Mater by the Norwegian composer Knut Nystedt, J.S. Bach’s Fürchte Dich Nicht, a funeral motet for double choir, John Tavener’s sprawling setting of the Orthodox text Svyati and another liturgical piece by the contemporary Ukrainian composer Galina Grigorjeva, In Paradisum.
