Online retailers are preparing for the busiest week of the e-retail year.
While the busiest day of the High Street shopping calendar tends to fall around 18 December, for online retailers orders are usually at their highest in the penultimate week of November.
This gives sufficient time for orders to be delivered ahead of Christmas.
It is thought that on Monday 22 November alone some £537 million will be spent online.
Throughout the whole festive period, 17 per cent of Christmas spending will be made electronically.
The total amount of online purchases could be as high as £6.4 billion.
