An all-female estate agency in St Neots have decided to give back to a cause close to the hearts of the whole company by launching their own domestic violence charity, The Property Angels Foundation. www.propertyangelsfoundation.org and their own charity calendar.
The Property Angels Foundation supports families affected by domestic abuse in St Neots, Huntingdon and St Ives and was set up by Noonan Property Services during the COVID 19 Pandemic of 2020, when cases of domestic abuse soared dramatically.
Joanne Noonan, Founder of The Property Angels Foundation says, “As an 'all female' estate agency, we talk! And when chatting at a staff meeting, we discovered we had all experienced domestic abuse in one form or another at some point in our lives. It was incredible.
We decided then and there, this was a cause we just had to champion - it meant so much to us all. And so, The Property Angels Foundation was born, and the fundraising began.”
Last year the team raised over £2000 for Cambridge Women’s Aid so children affected by domestic abuse had presents to open at Christmas.
Joanne says, “Domestic violence charities have told us they fear this Christmas could be worse than usual, with added financial pressures on families brought about by the pandemic, exacerbating the impact on those who are at risk.”
To raise funds and awareness this year they have created the 2022 Community Calendar: ‘A Year in St Neots - Photographs from Around Our Town’.
Featuring local photographer Sally Jex, her stunning images captured the publics imaginations during lockdown on Facebook, revealing St Neots and its surrounding towns in a whole new light.
The calendars are on sale now for only £7.50 each.
