thebestof Mobile
The key focus for thebestof mobile is to allow users to find businesses, offers and events in a very easy to read format on any mobile device. These screens need to display on a whole host of mobile devices so the interface is kept really clean and simple.
We've kept the info displayed relevant to people accessing this whilst they're out and about on the move.
All Offers are downloadable to the mobile and this should be a great draw to people to start using this straight away and get real value from this.
You can text THEBESTOF to 60300 (or you can click on http://bit.ly/tbomobile if you want to look on your PC) you can take a look at the mobile site and give it a test drive.
This is available now. We're just completing our final testing and changes so would welcome your feedback.
I expect to see this go fully live in the next 7-10 days.
Quote Me
We're just about ready to start testing "Quote Me" Local system on The Best of Site.
The release plan for Quote Me will be as follows:
Step 1: Mid August 2010 - Available on our test servers for final testing / feedback and fixes.
Step 2: Late August - Make the system live marked with a "beta" stamp. From this point on businesses will need to be engaged as they could be receiving requests for quotations.
Step 3: Mid September - We will remove the beta stamp and run a full marketing campaign to all of the members on thebestof to fully launch the initiative.
Thebestof iPhone
The iPhone app is following just behind the mobile application.
This is more sophisticated than thebestof mobile as it only has to run on one device and so we are able to do a lot more with the styling and user interaction including more map based search results.
The key focus of the thebestof App will be to make local current offers available to users whilst they are out and about (as well as still allowing users to search and find the best local businesses and events).
We will load the current local offers for the current phone location as the entry point to the system. Our aim is the App and the mobile website will become the defacto way to find the best local offers whilst you're out and about.
We expect the iphone App to be available during September.
