Wine, Dine, ‘Twist and Shout’ at Wyboston Lakes
If it’s been ‘A Hard Day’s Night’ (and week!), then Wyboston Lakes situated midway between Cambridge and Bedford, has the antidote for a weekend of letting go and being “Free as a Bird”. For two consecutive nights the venue is hosting a double bill of entertainment with a ‘Wine & Dine Evening’ on Friday 7th May and a Beatles tribute act on Saturday 8th May.
To unwind after a hectic week, Friday night’s would-be sommeliers at the ‘Wine & Dine Evening’ will discover the very best red and white Burgundy wines made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes. An informative and entertaining wine expert will pass on his knowledge of the Burgundy wines, whilst a four-course menu echoing the flavours of Eastern France is served. Courses will include grilled goat cheese with green apple and Dijon dressing, poached salmon with shaved fennel salad, pan roasted duck supreme with braised potatoes and spring greens with a Burgundy jus and blackcurrant cassis delice. Tickets for the four course meal, wines and speaker are priced at £42.50 per person, or if you prefer to stay overnight, tickets for an all inclusive overnight stay for two people on 7th May are priced at £135.00 including breakfast.
If the thought of those irresistible Burgundy wines ‘made all your troubles seem so far away’, then ‘Let It Be’ that way again on Saturday 8th May when The Fab4, a Beatles tribute band noted for their almost identical sound to the Liverpudlian legends, will treat guests to some Beatle mania. The band’s most popular hits will be performed including: ‘Love Me Do’, ‘Hey Jude’, ‘Yellow Submarine’, ‘Don’t Let Me Down’ and ‘With a Little Help From My Friends’ among others.
A three course menu of herb roasted chicken and battered haddock fillet served with chip-shop chips, parsley new potatoes plus puddings will accompany this ‘Ticket To Ride’, priced at £26.50 per person, for the live entertainment and three course meal. An all inclusive overnight package which includes two tickets, double room and breakfast is priced at £99.00.
Alasdair Swan, general manager, Wyboston Lakes commented: “ ‘Here Comes the Sun’ at last and with the return of two digit temperatures, we wanted to celebrate with a double event bringing together some of the best French wines and food complemented by the music of one of the most successful British bands of all time.”
For those in need of some ‘Help!’ getting tickets to both events, Wyboston Lakes is offering a special all-inclusive weekend package priced at £215.00 which includes two places for the ‘Wine & Dine Evening’, two tickets for the Beatles tribute night and a double ensuite bedroom for the nights of the 7th and 8th May, including full English or Continental breakfast and complimentary use of the onsite health and leisure centre.
As these are popular events, ticket must be purchased in advance. To book your tickets, please contact Laura or Phillipa on Tel: 01480 212625, email celebrations@wybostonlakes.co.uk or visit www.wybostonlakes.co.uk.
I've lived in St Neots since I was 13, and boy how it's changed. I'm always looking to promote everything great in and around our town.
