‘Daylight between MK Bucks and other teams’ says title sponsor.
Following their victory in the Single A National Baseball Championship in September, MK Bucks continued their run of excellent form with fourth place in an international tournament in the Netherlands, playing against high quality opposition including the PSV Eindhoven baseball team.
This continued success has resulted in the team renewing it’s partnership with sponsor Roofglaze Limited, suppliers of rooflights and roof glazing systems.
Over the last year, with backing from Roofglaze, MK Bucks have recruited new players to grow the squad and increase general awareness of the team and baseball in general.
Bryan Clarke, of Roofglaze, MK Bucks’ main sponsor, said: “Roofglaze is in the business of daylight - and that’s what we’re aiming to help the MK Bucks put between themselves and the opposition again in next year’s Single A championship! ...with even more focus on training and player development.”
As well as recruiting local players, the MK Bucks team draws on talent from as far away as Japan and the United States: countries where baseball has a higher profile than in the UK. “The team is a real focus point for baseball in the UK”, said Bryan. He continued: “It provides a great opportunity for newcomers to the game to gain skills quickly as part of a professionally run training scheme”.
The team currently has five BSUK registered level one coaches to help train and work with new players. Training and matches are on the Diamond at Woughton on the Green Sports Centre in Milton Keynes.
