St Neots Got Talent 2013 - And the winners are:
The Priory Centre held its annual St Neots Got Talent Competition last Friday, 26th July 2013. The whole event was brilliant! With 16 contestants, all dazzling a large audience of 100+ people with their unique and special talents. The competition’s compere, George Kelly, a regular performer with the St Neots Players and The VAMPS, entertained the crowd with witty banter while introducing the acts.
The Local talent included Classical Singing, Singing and Acoustic Guitar, Dancers, a Rock Band and much more. There was an excellent variety of acts that kept the crowd entertained until the very end.
The 3 judges, Rowan Marshall, ReaAnna Hammerbacker and Kim Ulmer, all local performers and committee members of the St Neots Vamps, had a very hard job indeed in deciding the winner.
In the end it came down to two Acoustic Guitar and Singing Acts, George Smith, aged 14 and Jasmine Plumb, aged 11. Both acts performed for the judges a final time and the ultimate winner was Jasmine Plumb, with her very beautiful, country sounding song and excellent guitar playing. The judges said that she was exceptionally talented for her age, had wonderful stage presence and thoroughly deserved to be the winner.
Jasmine Plumb will be performing at the Dragon Boat Festival, in St Neots on 31st August 2013 as part of her prize as winner of the competition.
Lisa Prestidge, the assistant manager and event organiser said this about the event – ‘I was astounded at the amount of people who came to watch the competition and the feedback from the audience was amazing, all the competitors performed so well and should be extremely proud of themselves. Jasmine is a very deserved winner and I can’t wait to see her perform again’
Lisa promises that the talent show will be taking place again next year, so keep a look out for that.

I've lived in St Neots since I was 13, and boy how it's changed. I'm always looking to promote everything great in and around our town.
