Holdcroft Stoke on Leek Road has taken steps to reduce the amount of plastic it uses. They’ve already replaced all plastic water bottles from its coolers with glasses and water purifiers.
Volvo prides itself on being a human-centric company that cares about sustainability, which is why the car brand has pledged to remove single-use plastics from all its facilities by the end of 2019.
Volvo is also committed to reducing the amount of single-use plastics in its cars. Many vehicles already contain parts made from recycled plastics, for example, the carpets underfoot contain fibres made from reused plastic bottles.
By 2025, Volvo has pledged that at least 25 per cent of the plastics in every newly launched car will be made from recycled material.
Chris Thursfield, Franchise Director at Holdcroft Motor Group, said: “The amount of plastic harming the environment and polluting the world’s oceans is awful. We all need to make changes to reduce our environmental impact.
“Holdcroft Stoke has reduced the amount of single-use plastics used by the team and offered to customers, and I would urge local people to do the same. You can do this by finding alternatives to plastic cutlery, straws, bags and coffee cups.
“If everyone makes these small changes in their day-to-day lives, we can help reduce the amount of plastic that ends up in the ocean, which is an incredibly worthwhile endeavour.”
