Darron Halsall was the recent winner of our competition to win Gatehouse Theatre tickets for the Jenny Éclair show Old dog, New tricks Darron was presented with his tickets by Becki Ward, Marketing Officer for the theatre and myself on April 27th and took a guest to see the show. He sent us this review
“I went to see Jenny Eclair in her stand up live show called Old Dog New Tricks at the Stafford Gatehouse. Was my first time watching a stand-up act on stage and was not sure what to expect. Show was hilariously funny. Most of her jokes were based on real life experiences and being middle aged. She is a very down to earth, straight talking lady, cracking jokes about how she has an addiction to the Marks and Spencer’s "Per Una" range, the menopause, getting older, her relationship with her partner, using self-service tills in the supermarket(the funniest bit ever where she admits to nicking the odd avocado -unexpected item in the bagging area lol!!!).You can relate to everything she talks about especially if you’re a woman and middle aged one too. Overall the night was very enjoyable and would definitely contemplate going to see her again.”
