If you are struggling with wanting to give up smoking there will have expert help on hand in Stafford this week.
As part of the national no smoking day Stafford Borough Council is putting on an advice surgery in the centre of town.
Health officers and trainers based at the borough council will be at the Safer Stafford Shop in the town’s Guildhall Shopping Centre on Wednesday (9 March) for people to drop in and get help to quit cigarettes. The clinic will be open from 1pm until 3pm
Members of the public will have the chance to test levels of carbon monoxide in their lungs as well as finding out what they could save by giving up the habit.
The council is already in line for a county-wide award for the work it has undertaken on its own premises to support people who want to give up smoking. Councillor Stan Highfield, Cabinet Member for Environment and Health, collected the ‘Breathe Easy Award’ on behalf of the council this week (Thursday 3 March).
It is awarded to businesses that develop smoke-free policies, demonstrate support to their local community and offer employees who wish to quit smoking help.
