Well, the BBC's Antiques Road show hit Stamford once again, this time with presenter Fiona Bruce revelling in the crowds and the beauty of her surroundings.
There was a queue of hundreds of yards as local fans brought along their posessions for inspection and valuation from the experts.
I remember a few years back I took along some bits and pieces when they were once again at Burleigh. Interestingly they decided to film one of my items. I was duly despatched to the green room to have make up applied and wait for the session. It was great fun seeing how it was all put together. I think I had fondly imagined that all of the filmed session were on the fly, never realising that it was all carefully orchestrated and organised, with make up, separate close-up shots , etc.
Eventually I received a letter a couple of days before the airing of the show to say that my clip wasn't being broadcast! No fame and fortune after all, but still a happy memory of a good fun afternoon.
This edition of the roadshow programme is likely to be shown in the autumn.
