Sunday was the 2008 Sue Ryder FunDay at Thorpe Hall.
I took along my stuff and set up a stall in the beautiful gardens of Thorpe Hall, after a very trying diversion off the A1. It was a lovely day (hooray, and what a miracle!) and although we kept being told that it would reach the nineties in the afternoon, I can't say that I noticed!
It was a great day out for the whole family, with lots of stalls and things going on, aerobatics, salsa dancing, belly dancing, singers to name just a few. As usual this year, I didn't take very much, but just managed to cover the stall fee. However, I didn't mind too much at this one as it is in such a good cause, the weather was good, and the setting was lovely. I managed to buy some home made jam, and was (sadly) situated next to the cake stall, so managed to just sample some of the offerings!
I managed to get the 'pop up' gazebo up on my own, and down again, although I notice that one of the struts got broken, I shall have to check how critical it is and if duct tape can come to the rescue! Next on my list is Spanfest in Lutterworh at the end of month, a new one for me again, so I have no expectations.
The strawberry jam I bought home is delicious! Although it's too late for you to get the same, did you know that Grange Farm Shop sell a great range of Footers traditional jams and chutneys?
