the Best of Stamford's third networking evening went off without a hitch last night at Finnan's Brasserie in St Paul's Street.
It was a warm evening, but we were able to use the garden which was great, enabling everyone to keep cool. Super refreshments from Nigel and his team, and a new icebreaker made it a fun and informal event.
Many of our customers were there, but there were lots of new faces too, some from the Chamber of Trade, as it was a joint event, and some who had seen the notice in the local paper and had come along. It was a good mix of people, and everyone who spoke to me on the way out seemed to have enjoyed themselves; several people mentioned how relaxed it was.
Tim Lee gave a presentation about the Chamber of Trade, focusing (amongst other things) on how they are trying to get SKDC to reduce parking fees in the town. It gave an insight into the Chamber which was welcome for those who were not members.
All in all it seemed to be a great success, so many thanks to everyone who attended, to Mike and Tim for organising it and to Nigel Kaye and his team at Finnans for the super venue!
