180 Key Stage 2 children took over the Corn Exchange Theatre recently for their production of 'The Button Box'. The children undertook all of the front of house actitivites as well as backstage for stage management and props. And they acted in the play as well. Judith Mackie of the Corn Exchange said that she didn't think they had ever had so many children on stage before.
The play centres around a grandmother's button box and the stories about its buttons. For instance, one belonged to a sailor who brought it back from Paradise Island, others were from various relatives.
The production played to packed houses.
