Stamford based UK Printwear launches a new web based
venture...
Who would have thought that so many people are looking for a fancy dress outfit to
go on their Stag / Hen nights - or just generally for days out!
Professional fancy dress costumes for both children and adults
has grown exponentially in popularity over the last 3 years. We've already seen Sukies of Stamford grow and move into bigger premises at the Corn Exchange Theatre on Broad Street.
The days of a hastily sewn-together outfit from old clothes plus a cardboard hat solution are long gone. Now the demand is for well-made, imaginative costumes - ready to wear as soon as they come out of their bags.
Over the past few years, UK Printwear (who print / embroider
clothing to order), have continually been asked to produce 'Lifeguard' outfits for beach & Baywatch themde parties / events as well as television programs / commercials.
Such was the demand - and noticeable gap - in the UK market,
that Mark Stanhope has sourced all the components (Yellow T shirts + Red Shorts!) and developed a website to offer just these items, including Lifeguard accessories such as hats, whistles and the obligatory 'Baywatch' style torpedo lifesaving floats.
Mark says 'I think the reason this works so well is that large
groups can quickly and cost-effectively get a 'uniform' to wear, whereas the 'costume' fancy dress range of items is more about individuality.'
The one-stop Lifeguard Shop is primarily
aimed at the partygoer, however swimming pools and lifeguards around the world have also been buying through the site.
Web site orders are dispatched by mail
order, most recently to Sierra Leone, where the lifeguards had not had new uniforms for over 10 years!
