SKDC all set for General Election
10th September 2009

SKDC is getting ready for the next election (when ever it may be) by starting  work to make sure that all eligible residents in the district can have their say on polling day.

From September electoral registration officer Beverly Agass and her staff are sending forms to all households in the area for the compilation of a new electoral register ready for the next General Election.

You can either complete the form and return it by post, or if there are 'no changes' you can use the telephone registration service. This way voters will be making sure they can have their say on what matters to them. It's simple really, if you're not on the electoral register you won't be able to vote in the next General Election. The next one is due any time between now and June 2010.

If you turned 18 after May 2005 or will do in the next few months, this might be your first General Election  and if you're a student living away from home in term time, you can register at your term-time address as well and vote there instead if the Election's called while you're away from home. But of course, you can only vote once.

If you need help completing the form or just want further information, contact South Kesteven District Council’s electoral services team : 01476 406125  email: ElectoralRegister@southkesteven.gov.uk
