Traffic Survey shows need for Speed checks in Stamford's Drift Road

MOTORISTS are warned that police will be carrying out regular speed checks following a traffic survey.
During the four day survey, 16,965 vehicles used Drift Road in Stamford - and with 7,143 vehicles flouting the 30mph speed limit, Stamford police will be targetting the area with speed guns.
Especially because the road is used by college students, and young people and others using the leisure facilities, it's deemed to be particularly dangerous to speed there. There will now be regular speed checks using hand held radar guns, with a £60 fine and 3 points for those found going over the limit.
There's already a speed camera on Ryhall Road, so the whole area looks to be a no-go for anyone who's not prepared to take it at 30mph!
