A man in a stolen van knocked down a 46 year old woman in Stamford on Tuesday. He has been charged with aggravated theft and document offences, which include driving whilst disqualified.
22 year old Martin McBrien of Northampton, appeared at Lincoln Magistrates Court, where the case was adjourned until Monday, and he was remanded in custody until then. The woman who was knocked down had bruising to her leg and the back of her head as well as whiplash after being knocked over at about 10am by the white Mercedes sprinter van in Stgamford High Street. Police blocked off the road to catch the perpetrator (and someone told me that they were armed, but I don't know how true THAT is!)
