Can you help out Stamford Cats Protection and some stray cats into the bargain?
Stamford and District branch of the Cats Protection is planning to hold it's first open day next Sunday, 27th July. The public are invited along to its homing centre, Washakie Kennels and Cattery in Meadow Drove, Dyke, near Bourne.
The plan is that new homes will be found for some of the stray kittens and cats that they are caring for, as well as some fundraising and fun with a raffle and tombola.
There will be many abandoned cats and kittens looking for homes, including Michael who was found 17 months ago in a skip, weighing less than 2kg.and a litter of 12 week old kittens.
Stamford and District is a small branch of the national charity, and has just four fosterers backed up with a small group of fundraisers. They are hoping that this homing day will help to raise the profile of the branch.
The event will begins at midday and runs to 4pm. There is no charge for the cats but the branch does ask for a donation to their funds. Please call 01778 590008 for more information.
