Rod Brown has left Bromsgrove Rovers to become the new manager of Stratford Town FC.
Brown, who has also managed Redditch United and Rugby Town and is a veteran of the local Non-League management scene, is the man entrusted by Town chairman Craig Hughes to spearhead a promotion push in the Midland Alliance next season on the back of a strong finish in 2008/09 which saw Stratford finish sixth.
Brown's decision to leave the Victoria Ground hotseat and drop a down a division from Southern League Division One Midlands outfit Rovers has surprised many supporters, but Brown believes the move is right for him at this stage of his managerial career as Town have better long-term prospects of silverware than the Greens.
