Cheltenham Racecourse will host a poignant Cotswold Tourism Forum drawing over 100 tourism businesses to the landmark venue. The event on 1st February, will take place in the venue’s Insurance Room and will discuss ways to promote upcoming, in-coming and domestic tourism opportunities during 2012.
The London Olympic Games and Paralympic Games and Queen’s Diamond Jubilee are forecast to orchestrate a hectic year for UK tourism; the forum will debate ways to support local businesses and boost the Cotswolds as a destination of choice. Speaking at the seminar will be BBC Countryfile presenter Adam Henson along with researcher Ben Moxon, who will present new results about Cotswolds tourism.
Cheltenham Racecourse has just launched a timely incentive, in conjunction with local business Ellenborough Park, to attract event and exhibition spends to the area. The promotion is valid for events taking place in 2012 and will offer a free treatment at the 5* hotel and spa for confirmed bookings of Cheltenham Racecourse’s Day Delegate packages.
Home to some of the UK’s most prominent racing fixtures, including the legendary Cheltenham Festival, Cheltenham Racecourse is known for its top racing calendar. However conference and events also account for a substantial part of the racecourse’s business; the venue offers a multitude of event spaces including The Centaur, a 2,250 seated auditorium with state-of-the-art lighting and sound capabilities.
Edward Gillespie, managing director Cheltenham Racecourse and chair Gloucestershire Tourism said: “We are very honoured to be hosting the forum and subsequently boosting awareness of the Cotswolds as a must visit destination. At Cheltenham Racecourse we believe it is highly beneficial to the surrounding area to encourage dialogue and productive working relationships between local businesses and we are overjoyed to be working with Ellenborough Park for our new promotional package.”
