Stone carving is a classic art and Neil Luxton creates unique works of enduring elegance and beauty. Neil first learned his craft from his father and after many years refining his skills has become a master of the art.  Luxstone combine these traditional skills with modern methods to offer this beautiful craft to all and are pleased to offer a new standard affordable range of memorials, house signs and similar, alongside more creative bespoke designs.

Together with Neil’s craftsmanship and the high quality of work, customers are assured of the best attention from a dedicated team.  With years of experience, particularly with memorials, the whole process is dealt with by Luxstone on the client’s behalf.  The service is complete, from help required planning a memorial, through all the paperwork, obtaining permissions and working within regulations of individual Churches and Cemeteries, to lettering or carving the stone and setting it in place.  Luxstone are able to work independently or with Funeral Directors.  A memorial is a personal choice and does not have to be part of the Funeral Director’s service, you can be assured Luxstone’s experience and knowledge will comprehensively cover all aspects of the process.

Luxstone’s work can be seen in many different places; from memorials in local cemeteries to special pieces such as the fountain at St Peter’s in Sudbury, house names and business signs similar to Gainsborough’s House.  Neil Luxton also holds the prestigious post of in-house stonemason at London's world-renowned Highgate Cemetery.  Here he has created memorials for many high profile people.  He also works particularly closely with St Marylebone and Golder’s Green cemeteries.

Luxstone also offer Carving and Letter Cutting courses at the studio in Sudbury.   The popular friendly day workshops allow you to create your own work.
