Sudbury Farmers’ Market is held on the last Friday, monthly from 9.30am until 2pm at St. Peter’s on Market Hill.
Lavenham Farmers’ Market runs every fourth Sunday from 10am until 1.30pm at Lavenham Village Hall.
This proud local enterprise provides shopping experiences that cannot be matched by any supermarket, with food provenance guaranteed.
From field-to-fork you can always be certain where your food comes from if you shop at Suffolk Market Events. Nothing travels more than 30 miles to Sudbury or Lavenham, and all goods sold at either farmers’ market are guaranteed to be produced by the person you meet selling them.
It is credentials like these that have helped Suffolk Market Events gain hard-earned recognition and a reputation for excellence. The company currently holds the title of Best Market in Suffolk, and was runner-up in the Countryside Alliance Awards for Enterprise.
It has 2,500 Twitter followers and over 1,000 likes on Facebook, and consistently records the highest footfalls of any farmers’ markets in Suffolk. The markets are also the only the only local events of their kind to also run workshops and cooking demonstrations on topics ranging from pig-keeping to jam-making, and both feature fantastic pop-up cafés serving delicious lunches and homemade cakes.
Sudbury Farmers’ Market is rapidly becoming one of Suffolk’s most vibrant town centre markets, showcasing the very best suppliers and highest quality produce to be found in our region. Each month the impressive deconsecrated hall at St. Peter’s is filled to bursting, as farmers are joined by the very best bakers, grocers, butchers, brewers and other local producers from Hadleigh, Boxford, Long Melford and Sudbury town itself. Following a successful re-launch just two years ago, Sudbury Farmers’ Market has built a superb reputation befitting of a town famed for its connections with the land and the broad range of exciting products it supports. Come along on the last Friday of every month and see if you can resist locally foraged samphire, mushrooms and crayfish, locally baked fresh bread, pastries and cakes, locally reared beef, pork, lamb and game, fresh fruit and vegetables from the region, and a wide range of garden plants. And when you’re food shopping is all finished, why not check out some of the quality locally made crafts, or just relax at the welcoming café run by Sudbury-based charity, The Bridge Project?
Did you know that Lavenham Farmers’ Market is officially the best market in Suffolk, since it scooped the title at the Suffolk Food & Drink Awards last year? Packing out Lavenham Village Hall every month, this market always features more than 30 of the best local artisan producers, ensuring a rewarding and enjoyable monthly shopping treat. Here you’ll find a remarkable array of local, fresh produce, and of course a guarantee that all the food you find at the market is produced by the people selling it you. Have a chat with the friendly traders that make Lavenham Farmers’ Market so successful, and find out everything you need to know before you buy with no hidden surprises.
This market is also a great destination for busy parents and their children. The family-friendly Farmers’ Cafe specialises in local meals and snacks created from the produce available at the stalls. Indulge yourself in homemade soup, a hearty farmers’ breakfast, freshly baked cakes and pies, or a great range of teas and coffees to keep you going all morning.
