The Bridge Project, based in the market town of Sudbury, was setup in 1995 as a local charity to assist disadvantaged adults within the community.

The Bridge Project Sudbury was set up in 1995 by Anesta Newson MBE as a local charity to assist vulnerable or disadvantaged adults within the community.

The project strives to work towards its vision, “a community within a community”, an inclusive place where everybody is treated fairly, with dignity and respect.  Vocational training, continual education and employment opportunities are provided that are fully accessible in a safe, supportive and welcoming environment for adults who face multiple disadvantages through their learning, physical or “hidden” disabilities.

In addition to our regular work activities we run “Open Doors” every Monday for those recovering from long-term mental health issues.  Services to the community include Lunches Delivered Locally and our Tuesday Lunch Club for older Sudbury residents.  Our café on Gainsborough Street is open from Tuesday to Friday offering delicious cakes, lunches and our famous scones and sausage rolls.  We also run a monthly Film and Supper Club and a “pop up” café at the Sudbury Farmers Market.
