This is a local restaurant to us but we have never been to date. However we had heard good things about their steak summer nights so we thought we would jump in. The food was amazing and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. I would definitely recommend if you are looking at a steak offering this is perfect and you must try the onion rings glorious!

I finally tried the Fox for an evening meal. I was not disappointed. The food is excellent and there is a good choice of local beers. Customer service is also very good.

We have just got home from a very pleasant lunch at the Fox, both meals were well cooked an presented. The biggest surprise, proper white linen napkins, which to me shows pride in your establishment. Staff very helpful and everywhere impeccably clean Unfortunately we live too far from Sudbury to visit regularly, but if in the area will without a doubt will call in again

Came for dinner, the service was lovely and quick but the food was disappointing. The squid came and looked lovely however there was so much batter around the squid that it tasted so fried and fatty it ruined it. I could not finish the meal as it made me feel sick unfortunately.

What a wonderful experience! We visited on a Friday evening for our anniversary and had the best time.
I particularly loved the homemade scotch egg to start.We haven’t been for years as it’s a bit out of our way but would definitely visit again.
The 2 meals for a set price or 3 meals for a set price is a fabulous idea and glad I went for 3!The only thing I would recommend is a gin menu but I guess that’s down to personal preference 😊

My husband and I visited here for an evening meal.
We were greeted nicely and seated.Firstly we ordered a bottle of red wine, a Malbec. which was brought over to us in a bucket of ice!!
Surely they should know red wine is not served on ice. Next we ordered our food. The starters were fine and tasted nice but the mackerel pate was served in a kilner jar. Very strange, and awkward to get the pate out of.
Next our mains. My husband enjoyed his meal of chicken supreme but I ordered crab risotto which really had no flavour and very little crab. It was really bland. It was edible but got very boring. At £19 I expected better. Service up to this point had been fine.
We ordered dessert. My husband ordered a brownie which he couldn’t eat as it was so dried out and as hard as a rock. I ordered cheese which was really very minimalistic.
A small price if Brie and smoked apple down.Chutney was nice but for £8.50 was nothing to shout about.
We sat for ages with staff walking past and ignoring our plates which we had put to the side of the table.My husband had to go up to the bar to order coffee because he got fed up waiting. We would have gone home sooner but we were being picked up so had a coffee while waiting.
The coffees came and she cleared our table of our dessert dishes. We told her about the brownie and she kindly said she would take it off the bill. Over all we felt the food was not worth the money. Our bill was £95 and the food and service were really not great. They only had 3 tables of people eating so we really would have expected better.
We will not be returning here. It’s a shame because before it changed hands it was a nice pub with a lovely atmosphere and great food. :(

We visited for Saturday lunch for my partners birthday. We couldn’t believe how quiet the pub was for such a great place. We had our dogs with us and the staff were so welcoming to us and the dogs. Biscuits provided and a bowl of water was a nice touch. Our dinner was delicious, one of the best pub lunches we have had in a while. We will be back for another visit as soon as we can!

I’ve visited here twice and both times were great. Food was delicious, the menu is small but creative and they change it every two weeks.
