My husband and I visited here for an evening meal.
We were greeted nicely and seated.Firstly we ordered a bottle of red wine, a Malbec. which was brought over to us in a bucket of ice!!
Surely they should know red wine is not served on ice. Next we ordered our food. The starters were fine and tasted nice but the mackerel pate was served in a kilner jar. Very strange, and awkward to get the pate out of.
Next our mains. My husband enjoyed his meal of chicken supreme but I ordered crab risotto which really had no flavour and very little crab. It was really bland. It was edible but got very boring. At £19 I expected better. Service up to this point had been fine.
We ordered dessert. My husband ordered a brownie which he couldn’t eat as it was so dried out and as hard as a rock. I ordered cheese which was really very minimalistic.
A small price if Brie and smoked apple down.Chutney was nice but for £8.50 was nothing to shout about.
We sat for ages with staff walking past and ignoring our plates which we had put to the side of the table.My husband had to go up to the bar to order coffee because he got fed up waiting. We would have gone home sooner but we were being picked up so had a coffee while waiting.
The coffees came and she cleared our table of our dessert dishes. We told her about the brownie and she kindly said she would take it off the bill. Over all we felt the food was not worth the money. Our bill was £95 and the food and service were really not great. They only had 3 tables of people eating so we really would have expected better.
We will not be returning here. It’s a shame because before it changed hands it was a nice pub with a lovely atmosphere and great food. :(

We visited for Saturday lunch for my partners birthday. We couldn’t believe how quiet the pub was for such a great place. We had our dogs with us and the staff were so welcoming to us and the dogs. Biscuits provided and a bowl of water was a nice touch. Our dinner was delicious, one of the best pub lunches we have had in a while. We will be back for another visit as soon as we can!

I’ve visited here twice and both times were great. Food was delicious, the menu is small but creative and they change it every two weeks.

Had the most wonderful evening last week.
The staff were so welcoming and attentive.

I had lunch with a friend today at The Fox but disappointingly the starters/mains were tepid not warm as they should be and quite a few of my carrots were black not orange. Very disappointed as the last time we lunched there I gave 5 stars.

We have driven past quite a few times and decided to stop and have lunch. What a very good idea!!! February has a reduction for each person on a Tuesday and Wednesday but prices good anyway as food way above pub quality.
Sorry no photos as we got stuck in. we had the duck rolls and plum sauce as a starter - excellent and then I had chicken and husband has haddock with chunky chips. Very very good. 4 pubs around under same management. Gusto something - look them up.

Cant recommend The Fox high enough. Really good food. Delicious! The pastry is delicious on the tart and pie. Staff really friendly and service brilliant. We will definitely be back.

Though I wasn't there to dine the emphasis was on fine dining, there was a limited selection of cask beer available at the moment from Brewshed but beer sampled was tasty

I live close to The Fox in bulmer tye and decided to try it out! My girlfriend and I immediately chose the scotch egg as my first dish. We made a great choice. The scotch egg was scrumptious with a gooey yolk and a crispy outside, accompanied by a tangy apple sauce. From then myself and my girlfriend chose the pork belly roast. After a short wait we were presented with a comfortable, perfectly plated roast dinner. The pork was cooked to perfection with the crackling delicately placed on top, all on top of a drizzle of apple sauce. The Yorkshire pudding made the dish as it was huge, crispy and tasteful! The vegetables that came with it oozed with flavour with the gravy that just completed it! After quickly eating everything on my plate we were offered dessert… we just couldn’t resist! I dove head first into the creme brûlée whisky my girlfriend destroyed a chocolate nemesis! Overall such a pleasurable experience with service that was above and beyond!

Went here for an evening meal, both our starters and main meals were very nice indeed. The staff were friendly and professional. The decor is very modern, it definitely does not have a traditional country pub feel however the atmosphere was still very pleasant. The only major negative is no lights in the car park so it is pitch black outside. We had to use the light of our phones to safely get back to the car. However, all in all we would happily return.
