First of all, I’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who’s got involved and pledged to shop locally this May.

So, a couple of great local buys this week

My favourite beer ever is Lemonhead. I’m very fortunate that great local brewery and thebestof Sudbury friend, Nethergate , brew and sell it in bottles from their long Melford brewery and brewery tap. When I popped there yesterday after work, they had a great set up. Lots of customers enjoying a beer or two in the cold May sun. They often have a local outside caterer selling food. Keep an eye on their social media for more information
Cox’s Boxes - I can’t always get to the market because of work commitments but the market (well Cox’s) can come to me. This will set me up for a couple of weeks and keep the scurvy at bay.
Half my household are vegetarian but I still want to make sure I support the local butchers. I live in Boxford and we’re fortunate enough to have A Leeder Butchers in the village. Today, I could pop down at lunch and grab myself a beef chilli stir fry for myself and the other meat eater in the family. Alan told me, him and the guys were working, sometimes 16 hours a day, last year, to ensure all those isolating were looked after and got their meat orders. Do try and support businesses like Alan, who worked every hour during the pandemic. It’s easy just to chuck a 1lb of mince in your trolley or online cart, but remember how those businesses supported their local community over these last 14 months. I'd like to try and support them as we move back into some sort of normality

Tomorrow I’ll be popping into Sudbury to see what else I can find (& maybe pick up a cake)
