There’s a reason why Leestock was named the best festival in Suffolk in 2019. It is a fantastic 2-day festival, that shines a light on great local bands and some pretty amazing headliner acts. What’s even more impressive is that the festival is a non-profit making event, organised by volunteers who started LeeFest to celebrate the life of their school friend. Lee Dunford passed away aged 21. He loved music and since 2008, LeeStock has been entertaining us with great live music, beer, comedy and family entertainment, whilst raising money for The Willow Foundation.
When I started thebestof Sudbury back in 2014, I had been made aware of LeeStock and it was something I immediately wanted to get involved with. One short year later, a dear friend of mine lost her battle with cancer. She wasn’t even 40 and had 4 small children. Inspired by her and my love of beer over running marathons, I offered to raise money for the Willow Foundation by brewing ale with different local breweries. The charity is unique. It organises fun and memorable days for young adults living with serious illnesses. Both Lee and Caroline benefited from Willow Special Days, so it was a cause close to my heart.
I am so proud to be involved with LeeStock and delighted thebestof Sudbury has been one of their sponsors for coming up for 10 years. It always makes me smile when I see my logo up on the stage banner and think how lucky we are to have such a great event right here on our doorstep and what a wonderful group of friends Lee has to organise an event that keeps his legacy alive for all to enjoy.
I can’t wait to get involved in 2024 and already planning what hops I’m going to raid for next year’s beer.
If you went to LeeStock this year and would like to leave a review, that would be amazing

Hello! I'm Penny from thebestof Sudbury, shouting about the best local businesses from Hadleigh through the Clare. When I'm not doing that, you'll find me knitting socks or tending to my 6 chickens
