Who's Taking Part in the Sudbury Christmas Window Display 2019
27th November 2019

For the last 12 years, Sudbury has taken part in the annual Christmas Window Display Competition. Those businesses wanting to take part, dress their shop windows and the local community chose their favourite.

This year, the festive baton has been past to thebestof Sudbury, supported by Sudbury Town Council, Waitrose and the Suffolk Free Press and I'm delighted we have the largest Festive Window Display competition (probably ever)

Over 60 businesses are taking part this year, but they need your support

So, how will it work?

The competition will be announced at The Christmas Light Switch on Friday 29th November and run until 19th December.

The winners will be chosen via a public vote and through the decision of a panel of judges (Our new Town Centre Manager, Rachel Price, Assistant Manager of Sudbury Waitrose, Richard Upton and the Mayor) Much like Strictly Come Dancing, the voting decision will be 50% public and 50% judges. I can't guarantee dancing, although I will try!

After counting the votes, we will let you know the winning shop (who will win a month's free promotion and advertising with thebestof Sudbury)

And for everyone that votes, they will be entered into a prize draw to win Christmas goodies from Waitrose. We can get the goodies to the lucky winner on 23 December, just in time for Christmas.

What do you need to do?

Firstly get yourself into Sudbury town centre and enjoy some free parking. And take a look at the business's festive window. If they have a poster in their window, they're taking part.

You can then vote for your favourite either online here

via the Suffolk Free Press December editions or

paper voting via slips you can find in Sudbury Tourist Information Centre in the Library or Town Hall. Some shops may even have voting slips. You'll need to return the voting slips to Town Hall by 19th December.

So, who's taking part?

You can take a look here: or download a pdf from the site (or just click here)

We hope you're going to get involved, get into Sudbury and take a look at the creativity of the local shops. And do pop in, you never know, you may find yourself the perfect unique present, whilst helping our local economy
