The Sudbury Community Depot was launched in September 2017. Their aim is to help isolated and vulnerable people in the area make a fresh start, by providing essential supplies to those in need.
Based at The Christopher Centre in Gainsborough Street, Sudbury, they will store clothing, bedding, furniture, pots and pans, donated to those who have recently moved into new homes, after homelessness or have escaped from abusive relationships, but do not have possessions or the means to buy such items.
Imagine you have been homeless. When you move into a home you have absolutely nothing and this is where the Sudbury Depot will help.
The project is now asking for help to raise £4,000 to meet its first year running costs, which will go entirely towards paying rent for its space in The Christopher Centre, and volunteers have also been welcomed to lend a hand to the scheme.
The depot will be open from 10am to noon on Mondays and Thursdays.
This Christmas, the Sudbury Depot are looking to put together Christmas hampers to donate to those who have little and to help a bit of festive cheer at a time where people can feel isolated and depressed.
