Booked late, but had a great Sunday lunch, sirloin of beef and loin of pork, great food, excellent service, a real lovely afternoon thank you.
We were a table of 8, one 5 year old, one under 1 and 6 adults who were all catered for throughout the meal, loved It!

This afternoon, I hosted my September networking lunch at The Fox at Bulmer Tye. Despite having to work around a powercut (they had a generator) the food was amazing and the service excellent. I'd like to give a quick shout out to the chocolate mousse, that was so chocolatey I can only assume it's good for you!!.

Excellent meals served to a group of 15. No complaints from anyone. What's more, they make their own sparkling water which is free instead of £2 a bottle. Many thanks to them, that was much appreciated.

Second time popping in here for coffee , Asked for Cheese scone and coffee x 2.
Scone clearly heated in microwave as lump of stodge and didn't taste Fresh.Covered in margarine and not asked if this was our preference , total waste of money as could not eat it all as too stodgy !! Please ask your customers how they like a Scone . Customer service also very poor , wont come back such a shame.

The menu changes, but the Wednesday pies are superb!!
More seriously, the Crown is now part of a chain, which always makes me wary, but as far as the food goes, there has been no need. I'm not going to go through various dishes, but I've never had anything tat has been less than a nice surprise...ok I'll mention three; the Wednesday lunch beef pies.....quite simply one of the best, if not the best, I've had. Venison on garlic mash with kale...and I don't even like kale, but I ate all of this and the venison (I think it may have been muntjac?) was wonderfully pink and succulent. Muntjac is one of the best of meats.........Homemade cinnamon doughnuts with apple puree and toffee sauce....as delicious as it reads.
The staff have always been so pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu. Love it. Not cheap, indeed, a little pricey.....but love it when I can afford it!
