We visited the Crown on Wednesday evening this week for their first steak night, it was fantastic. Such good value at £40 for two steaks and a bottle of wine. We took the children and my parents. we obviously didn't need three bottles of wine on a week night but they were more than happy to exchange the children's wine for soft drinks to the value of the wine.
Three of the party chose swordfish, two venison and one rib eye steak, every one said how good the food was. We also picked up one of the vouchers in December entitling us to a free desert making the whole meal fantastic value.
I will definitely be returning for another visit very soon, it may even turn in to a regular event for my family.

Dined here last Saturday evening with my girlfriend. The food was very nice indeed but what I liked most was the chilled atmosphere, the good choice of local ale and the impeccable service. We really enjoyed being able to sit by the stunning open fire and have a nice leisurely meal. We even popped back for a quick pint midday Sunday and it was buzzing and friendly. A really nice establishment that We'll be visiting again shortly.

We have been going here for over a year now, there are closer pubs (in the same group even) to us, but this is the best all round one.
The food is really good, the beer excellent and the wine list offers a good selection too. The garden is good for children (although it would be great if the play area was fenced off).
It gets very busy at weekend so book at least a week ahead to get a decent time and be prepared to wait for your food, it can take a little while, but the Sunday roasts in particular are well worth the wait.
The staff can be a little cold, probably because they are so busy though.

Coming into the village and seeing the pub was lovely, a truly picturesque.
Once inside we were greeted with friendly smiling staff and beautiful decor inside. We setup a tab and were taken to our table. Complimentary water, still or sparkling was provided and the furnishings were very tasteful.
The food was fantastic, very flavoursome and well presented. Nothing was too much trouble was the impression you got.
I will be taking my whole family back, really nice.

Our first time having Sunday lunch at this lovely old pub. We loved: the smart staff wearing uniform, the large wine glasses, the large linen napkins, the online booking system in addition to the delicious food. Really liked the roast pork with belly pork. The roast carrots, mashed swede and buttered cabbage were all really tasty.
We shall be back and also try the other Brewshed pubs.

Went with the family (6yr old and one month old) over half term. Great with the kids and food high quality. Great service. Thoroughly enjoyable and highly recommend. Lovely village setting.

Turned up here at lunchtime, on spec with dogs, and received a great welcome. Sensibly there's one area reserved for dog diners so preventing the whole pub being overrun with muts! Seemed to work well and the dog owners were joined by some dog admirers!
Lovely pint of well poured IPA was followed by a Keens cheddar sandwich and slow roasted shin beef bap for me with a decent bowl of cauliflower soup and some excellent chips. Food quality was very good and some tempting and slightly different things on the menu. If I was to be picky I'd query whether the cheese should be grated (to go further maybe, but always seems somewhat childish but that's being ultra fussy).
Great garden which is well maintained with good children's facilities.
Finished our lunch with a lovely walk around this delightful village.
Would highly recommend and is certainly worth the detour from some of the larger neighbouring
villages. We will be back for lunch very soon.

A group of 10 of us came for dinner at the Crown and the food was brilliant. The young girl and lad that served us were the best in the place and they were the newest, happy and attentive and a real laugh.
We did, however, arrive and the table hadnt been reserved. This was despite 2 phone calls regarding the reservation. But none the less we were seated in the lovely restaurant.
We were then given the starters for our table and the table next to us, and the gap between starters and mains was very long (2 cigarette breaks long).
Sometimes things go wrong on an evening, and I understand that and despite this will definitely be back. The lovely staff and the atmosphere in the pub was a drawing factor for me. Perhaps the organisation needs sorting slightly?

We have twice visited The Secret Garden now that the cafe has moved to Buzzards Hall next door. Very covid-safe and with tables spaced accordingly. We have eaten inside and outside, both very pleasant. The two and three course menus offered at lunch are the same as before the move and of very good quality. Just go, you won't be disappointed.
