I came for dinner with a group of friends for a catch up and had a wonderful evening. I am vegan and there were a few enticing options and both the adapted starter and cauliflower steak main were delicious! Service was impeccable, really friendly and patient staff with any questions, checking back and splitting the bill. Love the interior - feels spacious yet cosy and great coffee and a cool bar!

First time I have been since re-opening, I have to say thefood was well cooked, the staff friendly and polite, dinning area light and airy and appeared to be plenty of room around each of the dinning tables, I would suggest you give it a try, the menu clearly will change with the seasons for me an all round pleasant eating experience.

Our first visit to The Fox since reopening. We loved the food especially the big chips, the portions were generous. The staff are well trained and professional. If in Suffolk, do try the Crown at Hartest and One Bull, St Edmunds. You won’t be disappointed.

Foxes are generally associated with having smelly pee and going through bins, but none of that here. The food, staff and surroundings are excellent. Nice selection of local drinks.

We were quickly shown to a table and ordered drinks.
Table was nicely laid and had linen napkins.I had Haddock and Salmon Fish cakes my husband had Cottage Pie Fritters.
Fishcake looked good on presentation. Poached Egg on top was set in the middle not runny. Fishcake was very tasty though only browned on top and bottom, sides were white.Cottage Pie Fritters were good.Haddock for main course was delicious as were Peas. Chips were a bit of a disappointment as they were Potato Wedges with skin on not chips.
My husband had Suffolk Ham, chips and egg. Again Potato Wedges not chips. Ham was very thinly sliced.Water is served in a very attractive branded bottle.
I finished with a Peppermint Tea which was very good. My husband had a flat white which was served in a small glass. Difficult to hold as hot.Service was good.

This was our second time back and I’m so pleased we gave The Fox another chance. We ate at The Fox last autumn and we were left feeling a little underwhelmed, but this evening it was great the see the staff still as friendly and the food has improved!!
Love the selection of drinks, the cauliflower bhajis are yummy, the pork dish wasn’t dry and the pie was packed full of meat. Will be back soon!

Called in for a drink after a long walk with the dog, ended up staying for a few hours, enjoyed wonderful bar snacks and great beer. All the staff made us and Lexi feel very welcome so much so we booked a table for the Saturday evening, the food was delicious and even on a packed Saturday evening the staff all found time to chat. Next time we are visiting the area we will definitely pop in for beer and food.

A group of four of us had dinner here on Tuesday evening. Our table was booked for 6.15pm and the place was quite empty. By 7.30 it was buzzing! Three of us had the steak and ale pie which was delicious. Really tender meat, nice pastry and mashed potatoes and the gravy was yummy! It seemed a bit expensive at £14 but it was extremely filling and we didn’t have room for a dessert. I would only say, as constructive criticism, that it would have been nice to have more than one sort of vegetable on the plate. I know not everyone enjoys vegetables, but I really do! Staff were lovely and it was a good experience.
