Had a lovely lunch with my aunt & cousin here on Thursday. We had the 3 course set menu, Stilton and pear salad, venison burger and marmalade bakewell tart - washed down with Suffolk cider. Beautiful food well worth the money- A genuine taste of France!

Lovely cafe for afternoon tea and coffee. Friendly and helpful service and very knowledgeable. Great selection of home made food and very well priced. Afternoon tea with home made jam was delightful.

To celebrate a clear cancer check this morning we went to The Secret Garden for lunch. We have had tea and coffees there but never lunch, and we were not disappointed. We enjoyed a delicious yet unpretentious meal, home cooked and served without a long wait. It has a friendly and homely atmosphere and the staff looked after us very well. A lovely French restaurant without the usual fuss of a French restaurant! We shall certainly be visiting it more often, and for those who are passing through Sudbury visiting Gainsborough's House, a lunch here would make it a perfect visit to this lovely market town in Suffolk.

This gem of a place serves teas and light lunches I understand during the week, but on Friday and Saturday evenings it turns itself into a French restaurant. The charming staff are privileged to be able to serve imaginative dishes using the freshest ingredients from a menu which changes several times per year and which is always supported by daily 'specials'. We have eaten there on numerous occasions and had fantastic value and great taste. Nearly always full when we are there so I imagine need to book early (we always do) but well worth a detour if in the area at the right time.

This is my second meal here and it was even better than I was expecting...and the bar was already high!
I lunched here some time ago and was very impressed with the food, the staff and the ambience.Everything about the evening was delightful. We had a three course dinner and this included filter coffee with top ups. The food was perfectly cooked and creatively presented. We had a range choices between us so I was able to admire the dishes I hadn't chosen!
The service was very attentive without being intrusive and all the staff looked happy! The menu is not very extensive but that didn't matter at all! Looking forward to visit number three.

Lovely place to have a light lunch when visiting the market town of Sudbury. It is pricier than some of its neighbours but the food is good and made with fresh ingredients. Coffee was delicious. Thank you!

As a party of 11 for lunch we were given our own room to dine in. We all opted for the blackboard dishes of the day which were £14 for two courses. There were just two choices for both starters and mains. There was also a menu with light bites and sandwiches on. We had bread and water brought to us before the meal. There were a selection of reasonable priced wines. You could take your own but would be charged £6.50 corkage to do so. We had a chicken stir fry which was very tasty but could have done with a carbohydrate to go with it or some more bread. Very pleasant staff and good service.

Focused formulas find favour. This cafe/ tea room converts to a Bistro in the evenings courtesy of its French owners. bare pine tables, simple wooden chairs with cushions or a bench by the window. Intimate room, £25.00 fixed price three course menu with three dishes per course, simply veg, fish, meat; veg, fish, meat: cheese + 2 fruit deserts. Good £14.00 bottle house wine.Swift friendly service from the family.Tasty food with eclectic mix of french/colonial flavours. High lights, Sea trout terrine, my mullet and fennel with lots of orange was a surprising delight, raspberry souffle fantastic (& still on in summer menu). Sweet wines worth it with the puds. both Co^teaux du Layon & Muscat de Mireval. Coffee and refill included tried Monsoon good not to sharp. Bill for four £100.00 for food plus only £40.00 for drink (driver had one glass of wine only) bargain! can't see a reason not to go again. Interesting, pleasurable, satisfying. Booking advised. Recommended.
