Directors and staff from Specsavers in Sutton Coldfield and Mere Green have raised £1,030 for Our Place Support – a support hub based in the Royal Town.
Our Place Community Hub was formed in 2011 with the aim of bringing vital advice and support services to the Sutton Coldfield community.
There are over 20 voluntary groups and organisations that offer support from the hub, specifically in areas of mental health and wellbeing.
The hub has more than 700 visitors per month.
Rooms at the hub are suitable for one-to-one work, meetings, support groups and professional training.
Specsavers staff raised the funds by completing this year’s Royal Sutton Fun Run.
Tim Goodhew, retail director Specsavers Sutton Coldfield and Mere Green, said: “We’re delighted to be a Supporting Sponsor of the Fun Run which has been an integral event in the royal town for forty years.
“We have always chosen to support a local organisation based within the town, and with the challenges faced over the last few years due to Covid restrictions and now the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, we couldn’t have chosen a better organisation than Our Place Support which provides advice and support to many different groups across the town.”
Kelly Round, CEO of Our Place Support, said: “I can only thank Tim and the team at Specsavers Sutton Coldfield & Mere Green for choosing to raise money for Our Place Support. Demand for the range of services we offer has grown significantly over the last few years due to Covid restrictions and now with the ongoing challenges on home finances, we’re continuing to see that demand rise further.
“The cornerstone of Our Place is to provide impacting frontline support services that meet the needs of those within our local community.
“As a Community Interest Company, we rely on grants and donations to be able to deliver quality advice and support. Every pound we receive makes a difference, so we’re extremely grateful to Tim and his colleagues at Specsavers for their support.”
