Samsic, one of the UK’s leading cleaning and security companies, has donated more than £22,000 from its apprenticeship levy to support the training and development of three employees at Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

The funding will enable the staff to undertake accredited apprenticeships, enhancing their skills and helping the charity continue its lifesaving work.

Charley Burke, innovation and development manager, for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity is enrolling on a Level 5 Operation/Department Manager Course, provided by Wolverhampton College.

Wiktoria Jaworska, corporate partnership executive, and Kate Bristow, fundraising executive, will both undertake the Level 3 Fundraising course, provided by Corndel.

Emily Browne, head of education and training at Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said: “The apprenticeships funded by Samsic are an invaluable investment in our team. This development will help us continue to provide the crucial services that save lives across the region. We’re very grateful for their generosity.”

Derek Simpson, Samsic’s national training and mobilization manager, visited the charity’s Cosford airbase and headquarters to meet the three staff members benefiting from the apprenticeships.

Derek said: “At Samsic, we believe that investing in people is essential. It's a true pleasure to share this ethos with Midlands Air Ambulance Charity. Meeting those who will benefit from this training has been rewarding, and I look forward to seeing the positive impact on their personal growth and the charity's mission."

Speaking about the opportunity, Charley Burke said: “I’m so grateful to Samsic for providing the opportunity for me to develop leadership and project management skills as my career progresses. The value in this development, not only to the charity but to myself personally, wouldn’t have been possible without their support, and it was wonderful to meet Derek to thank him in person.”
