The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.

Every year schools can apply to be considered for bronze/silver/gold/platinum award marks from School Games.

The School Games adjudicators judge schools against stringent criteria in the areas of sport, participation, competition, staff and clubs.

With lots of young people competing in local inter-school competitions last year, The Coleshill School showed dedication to all aspects of school sport, including the young volunteers, leaders and officials who made their competitions possible.

Rick Wilkinson, head of PE, said: “Being awarded the School Games Platinum Award is an amazing achievement and recognises the strong extra-curricular offer available to students provided by the PE department at The Coleshill School.

“These include a wide range of sporting fixtures, school games events, primary school sessions and sports leadership events.

“I am fortunate to lead a fantastic team of outstanding professionals who often go above and beyond for our students.

“I am extremely proud of all the team and would like to thank them for their continued dedication and hard work over many years, which has resulted in this fantastic award.”
