Bishop Vesey's Grammar School is spreading some festive cheer by installing and decorating a ‘Giving Tree’ in Sutton Coldfield's Gracechurch Centre.
The intention of the tree is to bring people together at Christmas to help members of the community who are forced to go without during the festive season.
Those in need can speak to volunteers manning and attach their need to the tree.
Those able to donate can simply take a card off the tree, purchase the item requested and then return the paper with the need written on and the item back to volunteers.
This idea was initiated by Elijah Nix, a sixth form pupil at the school.
Staff and students visited the centre to dress the tree, which was donated by WM Wheats and Sons.
