Ten BMet sports enthusiasts chosen for a life enriching trip to Boston, USA, are seeking donations to enhance their ‘Boston 2 BMet Fundraiser’, ahead of their upcoming excursion.
The talented and sought-after students will be representing BMet as part of a wider five-college group, who are participating under the government’s Turing Scheme in March.
As part of the trip, which has been organised by the Association of Colleges (AoC), students will get to experience life, culture, and sport in the US.
This will include undertaking work and volunteering opportunities at a variety of sporting venues, local colleges, and other establishments across the pond.
The students raised £350 at their special sports-focused fundraiser, held at BMet’s Sutton Coldfield College in February.
However, they are seeking more donations to help fund their trip and to gain a wider insight into financial acumen.
To help facilitate this trip, the students fundraised as part of a planning and budgeting activity.
This will complement the students’ participation in a number of upcoming events – all aimed at raising awareness (and funds) for the trip.
Matthew Stephens, department manager for Sports at BMet’s Sutton Coldfield College said: “We are so proud of our students, whose dedication, hard work and talent, has been recognised not only on a local and national level, but now a global level.
“The students are so excited to immerse themselves into life in the USA, which will enhance their already existing knowledge and skills.
“It is a fantastic mutually rewarding opportunity and we would appreciate any donations and support, which will help them ahead of their exciting journey.”
To help make the trip a success, the BMet sports students and staff would really appreciate any additional support or donations. You can donate via the GoFundMe page.
