Around 100 cyclists of all abilities from 14 businesses based across Sutton Coldfield will be cycling for a total of 10 hours to raise money for the UK Sepsis Trust.

Each business will be hoping to raise £100 towards a £10,000 target for the Sutton Coldfield Chamber of Commerce’s chosen charity.

The day of fundraising will be taking place at the Gracechurch Centre on Tuesday 18 October, on bikes donated by The Gym Group, Sutton Coldfield.

The event starts at 8am with Reddicap Estate-based 3D Facilities Support leading off, followed by Henwood Court, Easyfundraising, Power Minerals, PLOTT Creative, Ark Media, WAA Chosen, BMET College, Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School, Sutton Coldfield and the Greater Birmingham Chambers, with United Carpets and Arthur Terry Learning Partnership to finish at 6pm.

While initially due to take place during the week of mourning following the death of HM Queen Elizabeth, the re-organised date has seen the vast majority of businesses continue to support the event.

UK Sepsis Trust fundraising manager Brian Davies is looking forward to what promises to be a day which raises a huge amount of awareness and money for the charity.

Brian said: “The event will be a fabulous way to raise awareness in Sutton Coldfield about the dangers of sepsis. Staff at the businesses involved, as well as members of the general public, will be able to learn about the signs and symptoms of sepsis whilst contributing to our flagship event, Cycle 4 Sepsis.

“In the charity’s 10th Year, to get ten hours of cycling completed and hopefully raise close to £10,000 will be a fitting tribute to the town where the charity was founded in 2012.”

A team from Sutton Coldfield Chamber will also be taking part, with divisional director Chris Brewerton saying: “It’s really exciting to see so many of our members get on board with the event as well as a number of the wider Greater Birmingham Chambers team.

“We thank all of those giving up their time and putting the effort in on the bikes on the 18th.”
