There are just over three weeks to go register for this year’s milestone 40th Royal Sutton Fun Run.
Registration will close when all 5,500 places have been booked or on Easter Monday, 10 April -whichever event occurs first.
Event director Tracey Spare said: “Whilst the majority of those to have already secured their place live within 30 miles of Sutton, we’ve received entries from across the country.
“Indeed, two people who split their time between Sutton and Sweden have registered for the event on Sunday, 4 June – Sunday at the end of spring half term.
“Last year’s event celebrated the 40th anniversary since the first Fun Run in 1982. However, due to cancellations, as a result of Covid restrictions, this year will see the 40th event, so another milestone in the history of the annual fundraising event.
“The Fun Run to date has distributed a minimum of £4.92million to charities and voluntary organisations nominated by those who participate. We’re very optimistic we’ll break the £5million figure this year which will be a fabulous achievement.”
