Online registration for the 40th Royal Sutton Fun Run opens tomorrow from midday via the event website.
The Fun Run will follow its established 8.5-mile route, including four miles in Sutton Park, on Sunday 4 June - its traditional date at the end of spring half term - with places limited to 5,500.
Event organisers have also revealed a new event logo, created by Sutton Coldfield Chamber of Commerce member Kate Curry of the Curry Design Studio.
Fun Run event director, Tracey Spare said: “It felt the right time to refresh the event logo and to focus on the ‘Fun’ element of the event, particularly as we reach this year’s milestone 40th Fun Run.
“Kate has captured the essence of the event, whilst maintaining the tradition of using a red, white and blue colour scheme to reflect the royal status of Sutton Coldfield.
“We’re also indebted to Darren Langley Web Design, also a Sutton Coldfield Chamber of Commerce member, for designing and rebuilding a new web site which went live earlier in the week, ahead of tomorrow’s official launch.
“Darren has worked in tandem with Kate Curry and created a vibrant web site which we’re sure will help encourage existing and new participants to register and ‘Be Part of History’ on 4 June.
“This year could also see another landmark reached, as we’re confident at the conclusion of this year’s event, participants will have taken the total raised and distributed to charities and voluntary organisations above £5million since the first event in 1982.”
Registration will remain open until either all places have been filled or Easter Monday (10 April).
