Sutton Coldfield’s popular Gin and Ale festival is set to return this Bank Holiday weekend, bringing a trail of gin-credible spirits and beer-eautifulales to the town centre. Following the huge success of the inaugural event in May, gin and ale enthusiasts will again be invited to sample a selection of artisan gins and craft ales at several of the Royal Town’s pubs, bars and restaurants. Guests will also be in with a chance of winning a tour for four people at Purity brewery, simply by uploading a photograph of them enjoying their drink with the hashtag #SCTCGinandAleTrail. A limited number of exclusive souvenir t-shirts will also be up for grabs for those who collect six stamps after enjoying a drink in any of the participating venues. All establishments will also offer a free draught soft drink to each designated driver. Organised by Sutton Coldfield Town Centre BID, the week-long celebration will take place from Friday 23 August to Friday 30 August. Sixteen venues are taking part in the event, including Simpsons Gin Bar, The Royal Hotel, The Three Tuns, The Station, The Gate Inn, Level 1 Lounge, Migas Tapas and Wine Bar, Slug and Lettuce, Brewhouse and Kitchen, Quinto Lounge, Molloys, and The Duke Inn. Mike Bushell, Sutton Coldfield Town Centre BID Manager, said: “We are delighted to welcome the return of the Sutton Coldfield Gin and Ale Trail. The town centre is home to a wide range of wonderful pubs, bars and restaurants bringing a great variety of food and drink all year round. “The inaugural festival in May proved to be a huge hit with gin and ale lovers, and we’re certain its return will provide the perfect way to celebrate Sutton Coldfield’s varied offering this Bank Holiday weekend,” he added.
