Curry favour with your friends and family this September by serving up a spicy evening of entertainment and having fun while raising money for a local good cause.
For their latest charity campaign, John Taylor Hospice has crowned next month ‘Spicetember’ – and has dedicated 30 days to fun, fabulous food and fundraising.
“We’d love for people to host a curry night during Spicetember and invite along their family and friends,” explains the hospice’s community and events fundraising manager Emily Boate. “By making a donation to come along, guests will be raising money for John Taylor Hospice and helping provide end of life care for hundreds of people every day.
“During these uncertain times, we know people may not be able to physically get together, but spending time with each other and keeping in touch is so important for our wellbeing. That’s why we’ve put together a guide packed full of fun ideas including how to get your curry companions together online.”
If you’re in a pickle and unsure where to start, simply visit the John Taylor Hospice website to download a Spicetember guide. The pack contains top tips on how to tantalise taste buds and ways to raise money and a few laughs with a curry cook-off, curry-oake or chilli challenge.
Emily added: “If enjoying Indian food in the company of your favourite people is your idea of an ideal night in, then Spicetember is right up your street. Even if you don’t fancy cooking, you can still meet up with friends and family and enjoy tucking into your favourite takeaway dishes. By spending time together and having fun you’ll also be benefitting a local charity that needs help now more than ever.”
