The Priory Hospital, part of Circle Health Group, has announced a landmark partnership with Sutton United Football Club for the 2024/2025 season.

The partnership will see the Birmingham-based private hospital working with the club’s first team players, staff and fans to promote health and wellbeing initiatives across the community. The Priory Hospital’s logo will also be proudly displayed on the club’s home kit for the season's duration.

The club was founded in 1947 by three friends who returned from serving with the RAF during the Second World War. Seventy-seven years on the club has grown to become a central part of the community, with over 50 teams, 3G pitch and following a £1.6 million investment programme, dedicated club house and playing facilities. The future of the club looks bright as the men's 1st team embarks on another season competing in the Midland Football League 1.

The Priory Hospital’s decision to partner with Sutton United FC reflects staff and doctors’ ambition to play an active role in the communities they serve. Both organisations share similar values and believe strongly in the importance of living an active and healthy lifestyle.

A cornerstone of the partnership will see staff and doctors support the club’s players, management and fans at community days throughout the season. The Priory team will be on hand to offer those attending valuable information on a range of medical conditions. Moreover, the senior management team at The Priory Hospital have agreed to work closely with Sutton United FC to develop a suite of healthcare focused resources that fans and other community partners can have access to.

Commenting on the partnership, Silvie Adams, executive director of The Priory Hospital, said: “We have been at the forefront of our community in the West Midlands for over 40 years. Supporting patients, our community and health education more broadly is in our DNA. We are proud to be partnered with Sutton United FC for the 2024/2025 season and look forward to supporting players, staff and fans on and off the pitch for the rest of the season.”

Lee Cockerill, Commercial and Coaching manager, said: “Having the support of a local institution like The Priory Hospital is incredibly valuable to us. Like us, they believe in the power of community and what it means to bring people together in an active and healthy way. We look forward to working with them throughout the season across all our community and club initiatives.”
