Students from Arthur Terry School had the opportunity to quiz more than 40 visiting organisations at the annual careers fair.

The school’s careers fair was opened by Sutton Coldfield MP Andrew Mitchell, who said: “This event is typical of the many opportunities provided by Arthur Terry, one of the great schools in Sutton Coldfield.”

Year 7 to 11 students each prepared questions for at least three targeted exhibitors and had 30 minutes in the exhibition hall.

Even more pleasingly, the students themselves appeared to thoroughly enjoy the fair and rose to the challenge of engaging with unfamiliar adults.

One student commented, “I’m so happy, I have found my dream digital animation course!”, while another noted, “that was just about the most informative thirty minutes of my life!”

Sutton Coldfield Chamber president Katie Hale and manager Chris Brewerton were among those in attendance.

James Lindsay, Employment & Skills Delivery Lead for the West Midlands Combined Authority, Ruth Broome, Senior Enterprise Coordinator for the Careers Enterprise Company and Arthur Terry’s Careers Governor, Darren Priddey also lent their support to the event.
