Sutton Coldfield’s town mayor has unveiled a plaque in recognition of the vaccination programme delivered at Sutton Coldfield Town Hall.
Between 1 February 2021 and 18 December 2022, Sutton Coldfield Group Practice, Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Council and Sutton Coldfield Town Hall Trust, along with the help of over 300 volunteers, came together to assist on the front line and dedicate many hours to vaccinate residents of Sutton Coldfield.
Cllr Jan Cairns (pictured), mayor of the Royal Town, hosted a reception to thank everyone for the work carried out during the vaccination programme.
She recalled her own experince of receiving vaccinations at the Town Hall - adding how impressed she was at the efficiency of the large-scale initiative.
Sutton Coldfield Town Hall was the hub of the vaccination drive for the Sutton Coldfield area with a total of 174,260 vaccinations being administered to those who attended the venue and to housebound and care home patients throughout the town.
Cllr Cairns said: “As the rollout gathered momentum, over 300 volunteers came forward to help. Each going above and beyond to the that friendly face that so many patients needed to see at the vaccination centre.”
