Two West Midlands MPs have been named today in Rishi Sunak’s new cabinet.
Andrew Mitchell (pictured), MP for Sutton Coldfield, has been appointed minister for development, and Gavin Williamson, MP for South Staffordshire, becomes minister without portfolio.
The PM was meeting his new cabinet this morning before facing opposition leader Sir Keir Starmer in PMQs at midday.
Mr. Sunak has pledged to govern with "integrity" and has included people from different wings of the party in his top team.
Labour criticised the decision to reappoint Suella Braverman, popular on the Tory right, as home secretary just six days after she resigned over data breaches.
Several people from Liz Truss's cabinet remain, such as Jeremy Hunt as chancellor and James Cleverly as foreign secretary.
Key figures in Boris Johnson's government, including Michael Gove and Dominic Raab, have also returned to cabinet roles.
Therese Coffey, a close friend of the former prime minister, was demoted from deputy PM to environment secretary.
