YMCA Sutton Coldfield is inviting the local community and businesses to join their sleepout event to raise vital funds to help support their work with vulnerable young people.

This year’s event will take place on Friday 4 April with Sutton Coldfield residents raising money by giving up their beds and sleeping out so others don’t have to.

It is once again taking place at The Gracechurch Centre as part of a new charity partnership.

Participants will brave hard floors and sleep in cardboard boxes for the night to not only raise money but also awareness of youth homelessness.

YMCA Sutton Coldfield has supported young people in Sutton Coldfield for the past 125 years.

The charity changes the lives of hundreds of young people and their families each year by providing accommodation to prevent youth homelessness, supporting disadvantaged young people and young carers, as well as children and young people with disabilities.

Joy Scott-Thompson, CEO at YMCA Sutton Coldfield said; “We are so excited to be bringing Sleep Easy back for 2025 in partnership with The Gracechurch Centre.

“Having a safe and stable home is crucial for young people to be able to build and move forward in their lives.

“We provide those foundations so that the young people we work with can progress to living independently and realise their own potential.”

YMCA Sutton Coldfield is one of several local YMCAs across the country that have joined forces to raise awareness of youth homelessness.
