A St Gile Hospice volunteer, whose husband received end of life care from St Giles Hospice is asking people to play their Summer Raffle,
The raffle features over £11,000 worth of prizes, including a top cash prize of £8,000. Raffle tickets are available for just £1 each, and participants have until Wednesday 24th July 2024, to purchase their tickets.
The draw will take place on Wednesday 7th August 2024. By participating in the Summer Raffle, you’ll be directly supporting families like Joan’s. Joan, aged 91, and a dedicated volunteer and fundraiser for St Giles, shared her heartfelt story about the support her family received.
She said: “My late husband, Norman, was cared for at St Giles towards the end of his life. During Norman’s time at St Giles, he said to me: ‘You will help them, won’t you?’ and 17 years later I’m still volunteering and fundraising for the hospice.
“The team at St Giles were wonderful – supporting not just Norman, but our entire family too. We were even given a family room, to make sure me and our children could be with their dad whilst saying goodbye.
.”I have been doing everything I can to give back to the hospice ever since, to say thank you for the care and support myself, and my family, received. “Thank you for playing the St Giles Hospice Summer Raffle. Your generous support is appreciated by local families, like mine, and it makes an incredible difference at the most difficult of times. Thank you.”
Emma Yates, Deputy Associate Director of Income Generation at St Giles Hospice, added: “We’re always incredibly grateful to those who support our Summer Raffle and we would like to wish anyone who buys a ticket the very best of luck.”
