Sutton Coldfield Community Games
13/14 July 2019
12-5 PM
Wyndley Leisure Centre
The starting pistol will be fired for the seventh annual Sutton Coldfield Community Games at Wyndley Leisure Centre tomorrow.
Around 10,000 people are expected to attend the Games, which take place on Saturday and Sunday between 12pm and 5pm.
Run by volunteers and with all the activities provided free of charge by local sports clubs, groups and associations, the Games is a community event aimed at giving people of all ages the chance to try their hand at a range of sports.
Visitors can try everything from athletics to sailing, basketball to trampolining and lots.
The Sutton Games are made possible by a core team of volunteer organisers and hundreds of volunteer event providers.
It is funded via donations from the Sutton Coldfield Charitable Trust and sponsorship from local organisations including Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Council, Green & Company, WAA Chosen, Sutton Spas, Star Cars and West Midlands Trains.
Our resident poet, Ian Henery, has put pen to paper once again to express what makes the Sutton Games special. This particular poem form is known as a ‘Villanelle’, hailing from Italy.
